I'd like to send this to Link anivikpharmatech.com So how can a piece of software that restricts your broadcasts to 140 characters (about two sentences’ worth), posts them on the internet and allows others to read and respond – text messaging on the web, basically – be worth so much money? Twitter will raise that amount because investors believe they’ll see a return on it, of course. Since it’s free to use, those profits will come from advertising, not the words that people like you and I write. Already – in between the aperÉeÉ@us from the celebrities I follow, the weather updates from Brighton and the messages about my latest, unmissable blog that I bleep out to the 500 folk who “follow” me – the adverts are appearing, via “sponsored links” by big companies, and spam, from those selling goods of a less, er, reputable nature.
